BUZZ OFF !
The USA Bee Kidz Pageant cares about kids and their well-being which is why it has created their Buzz Off program. The Buzz Off program allows adults and children to get valuable information on Child Safety and how to better protect themselves from Stranger Dangers. The Buzz Off program helps empower kids of all ages.

We Bee-lieve that the best protection against abducted or kidnapped children is knowledge. If parents choose to, USA Bee Kidz Pageant have access to a Child Safety workshop for Free. The Bee Kids even go out into the community and help spread the message to others that if a stranger approuches them, to tell them to BUZZ OFF and tell someone they trust.
USA Bee Kidz will be at the Ontario Mills Mall in May passing out information as well as Child Safety Kits for FREE as an effort to empower the community as well as other kids.

USA Bee Child Safety Tips
1. Although it is important to plan for an emergency, which includes keeping updated information about your child and current photos, fingerprints and dental charts of them, nothing is more important than talking with your child and creating an atmosphere in your own home where they feel safe coming to you and confiding information about an uncomfortable experience.
2. Teenagers-especially girls 12-19-are the most victimized segment of the U.S. population, victimized at a rate 84% higher than the general public.
3. In a recent survey of law enforcement nationwide, 98% of those police polled indicated that high-quality photographs of children are vital to any missing child investigation. Police and child advocates agree that parents should keep up-to-date photos of their children, regardless of their age, on hand at home in case of an emergency.
4. Most child abductions are committed by people the children know or are related to. The U.S. Department of Justice estimates that 354,600 children are kidnapped by a family member in the United States each year, and up to 5,000 are abducted by people who have at least some acquaintance with the child. Contrary to popular belief, the random abduction of children by strangers, as terrifying as they are, number an estimated 200 in the U.S. each year.
  5. Always check in first with your parent/guardian before you go. Your parents might not see a note and be worried about you. Let someone know where you're going and when you'll return before you leave so everyone knows where you are!
6. Always take a friend with you when you go. It is fun and safer to travel in numbers.
7. If you feel sad, uncomfortable or scared about something someone did or said to you, always tell someone you trust, and if no one believes you, keep telling, until someone listens and helps. Whatever you do, don't keep it a secret. There are lots of people who love you and who will help.
8. Adults should ask other adults for help, not kids. If someone in a car comes by and asks you for help or directions, turn around, tell them to BUZZ OFF and walk away from them. Don't go up to their car. Tell them to ask an adult and then stick with your friend or Mom or Dad.
9. If you get lost at a store stay where you are and ask for help from a uniformed store worker or a security guard. But don't wander away and never leave the store. Your Mom and Dad wouldn't know where to find you!
10. A stranger is someone you don't know very well or at all. Even if they give you a gift, candy or presents and they seem nice or friendly, they are still strangers. When it comes to strangers, specially ones that ask for your help, it's okay to not be polite... run away from them and tell them to BUZZ OFF!
